September 17th – National Constitution Day and Citizenship Day

“Constitution Day and Citizenship Day is an American federal observance that commemorates the adoption of the Constitution of the United States and those who have become United States citizens.  This day is observed  each year on September 17, which is the day the U.S. Constitutional Convention signed the Constitution in 1787.” – NationalDayCalendar.com

A day to think about the Constitution of The United States, and how it has blessed me in my life. Today was opening night for the show I have been working on, so it’s been a bit hectic. I took some time in the midst of this to have a conversation about the Constitution.

We were in the middle of an opening night party, but we were talking about women’s right to vote and Rosa Parks. We talked about the people who have gone before us that have fought to give us what we have today.

And we didn’t get deep. It was an opening night party. But, I’m glad that today encouraged me to think about these things. Because, it’s probably important for each of us to stop every now and then in the middle of the chaos and think about what we’re enjoying that was fought for by somebody else. I live such a wonderful life because of sacrifices made by those who have gone before me.

What are we fighting for now for those that will come next? Just think about it.

I didn’t really take a picture of us talking about the Constitution, but here is a picture of me with my hair down.

Say goodbye to these locks, because they’ll be gone tomorrow.
