I won’t lie and say I’m a fan, but I did it. I had a bologna sandwich with mayo and mustard.
My Grandma used to make me bologna sandwiches when I would stay with her up in Idaho. During the summer, we got to spend a week at Grandma’s house all by ourselves. She made them with miracle whip and white bread and I’d never tasted anything better than that. Bologna sandwiches will always remind me of Grandma’s kitchen and that table that you couldn’t eat at unless there was a placemat.
These National Days are fun to celebrate because it’s something new to do or eat every day. Every day as I do or eat something new, I am either having a first experience that I will always remember, or remembering my first experience. So it’s all very much about experiences.
And people. Always about the people.
