I had another busy day today with my family in town. We were all over the place, but I tried to keep in mind that today is National Prayer Day and what that means to me.
One of the places we were able to visit was the 9/11 Memorial. It is a touching site, and takes me back to a time when all of us were searching for and needing someone or something bigger than us for comfort. Those times will come to all of us at one point or another.
I believe in prayer. I believe there is a God that listens to me and cares about me as His daughter. This helps me in my life. It makes me feel better.
There are many ways to pray. We all have different relationships with Deity. Some kneel, others meditate, some just spend time in nature. I say, it doesn’t really matter how you do it, if it makes you feel better or helps you find peace – keep praying.
I had a friend share a Washington Post article today – Confused by how to pray? Watch some examples. Make sure to check it out. There are videos from a few religions.
I think it is important for us to make the effort to understand and embrace our differences. I know it’s naive, but I believe that most of us are good people trying to live good lives. Our differences should be good, not scary.
