Have you heard of geocaching? It’s pretty great. People hide little containers and post the coordinates. Then we use our nifty smart phones (or gps devices) to go to those coordinates, search around, and find the container. Inside the container there is a log to write your name, and in larger caches, some knick knacks.

This is the largest container I’ve found in New York. In general, caches here are harder to find and most of them require that you solve a puzzle in order to get the coordinates. That wasn’t the case on this one just because Tali and I were short on time.

I’ve been trying to get my friends excited about geocaching for a while, but it hasn’t been working very well. I was hoping Tali would find today’s and be totally converted. She sort of found it today.

Kind of.

This one was in Central Park. Today was a beautiful day. Great day for Geocaching.

I love scavenger hunts. I have stories of doing them at work, and a favorite app of mine is Strayboots. This app creates scavenger hunts around cities as a way of sightseeing. I’ve done it in NYC and DC and it’s been really fun. Great way to explore.

So happy scavenger hunt day. If there is anyone out there who would like to create me a city wide hunt, that would be awesome.

What’s Tomorrow?
