I’m gonna be honest when I say I really don’t know the difference between baking soda and baking powder. I’ve been cooking a lot more these past few months and many recipes call for one or both of these ingredients. No idea what they do.
So it was nice to take a moment today to read up on Baking Soda. There really are a lot more useful things about this than I realized.
I mean, I have used baking soda and water to clean the ick off of my car battery. Such a cheap and easy clean! Have you ever used baking soda for any of these?
- On your icy walks instead of salt. It doesn’t stain your shoes, pants, or porch like salt does.
- To clean your toothbrush.
- To clean stains off tuperware, burns off pans, or red stains out of fabric.
- Sprinkle on the bottom of your toaster to prevent the burning crumb smell.
That last one is genius. I’m totally going to use it if I ever get a toaster.
I end this post when a youtube video. I once paid Jiffy Lube to clean the headlights on my car. They did a mediocre job. Baking Soda could’ve done the trick! You don’t have to watch the whole video to get the idea.
