June 5th – National Donut Day

I think more of my friends on social media celebrated today than any of the other days I have written about. There were even free donuts being handed out on the streets of New York City.

I was able to sit and share today’s treat with a friend before we went in to see some Shakespeare. I’m so cultured.

There was a time when I was just a freshman in college that I was getting ready to go out on a first date with this guy I knew. He called me the day before our date and said, “I’m sorry, but we are going to have to change from our original plan.” I didn’t know what the original plan was, so I had no problem with that. I later found out that Plan A had been to make donuts ourselves by plugging a deep fryer in to one of the outlets that are at the base of every light post on the main street in St. George, Utah. Fortunately, he’d taken this on a test run and gotten sick from the donuts that were made. So we ended up doing something completely different. This is what donuts make me think of.

Maybe I’ll tell you about that date in a later post, because almost 13 years later, it’s still the best date I’ve ever been on.

What’s Tomorrow?

June 6th
