September 6th – National Read A Book Day

The sad truth is that I am reading the same book today that I was reading one year ago. Growing up, I was always an avid reader. I would stay up way into the night reading. It’s only been in the past few years that this changed for me. I got overwhelmed and busy with work, and reading was something I didn’t have time for anymore. At least I thought I didn’t.

I have listened to a lot of books on tape over the years. It’s not like books aren’t a part of my life at all. But there is just something about laying on my bed and losing all track of time while I fall in to another world. I’ve missed that.

Well, it happened again tonight as I fell in to my friend Tali’s book. I’ve been reading this book in short spurts when I find the time, but today I had a lot of time. So I got lost in her world of jewelry and memories and following your passion in life. And before I knew it, I’d finished the book.

If you are looking for a fun read, you should check out her books. talinaybooks.com

If I take a year on every book like I did with this last one, I won’t finish this list before I die. I’m in the process of changing and bettering a lot in my life right now. Getting back in to reading is just one part in the larger plan of improving my life. I look forward to the next year and the number of these books that I will have read by then.

Feel free to suggest any books for this list, but I make no promises on finishing them before I’m 90.

What’s Tomorrow?
