“This is to honor the nation’s airborne forces of the Armed Forces. August 16, 1940 marks the date of the first official Army parachute jump.”

I celebrated at the International Women’s Air and Space Museum where I was inspired by stories of the women who followed their dreams when everybody around them said it was impossible. I’m grateful for the people who refuse to let prejudice and bias stop them from accomplishing great things.

“The air is the only place free from prejudices.” – Bessie Coleman, first Female African American Pilot.

“Courage is the price that life exacts for granting peace.” – Amelia Earhart, first person to fly solo across the Pacific (and many others).
