August 17th – National Thrift Store Day

This one was harder to do because it landed on a Sunday (I try not to go shopping on Sundays), but I decided to go for it.

Most thrift stores were closed so this open one was kind of a trek. As I walked, my mind wandered to buying a cheap bike for the month I’m here or having my Dad ship my Rollerblades (I like to pretend I’m a skater). About an hour walking later I found the store.

I grabbed some random t-shirts and was almost ready to go when I saw them. Rollerblades. Hidden next to the telescope and lawn chairs. They were used, but in decent condition. I tried them on. Perfect. Fit. I impulse bought those $5.99 Rollerblades faster than you could do an Indy Grab. I then walked across the street and put them on.

It was sketchy at first, but once I remembered how to not die while going downhill, it was smooth sailing. I even passed a guy on a bike at one point (#owned). And I got home in 24 minutes.
