November 29th – Small Business Saturday

One of the many great things about New York City, is the how easy and common it is to frequent small businesses. I was surprised when I got here how small this town actually is and how much community matters.

I guess it’s a bit impossible to avoid. We live on top of each other.

I was working most of the day today, so I didn’t have the opportunity to go out and do legitimate shopping. I did stop in at a bodega to get some food. I like that when I go to small businesses, most of the time the person I am interacting with is the person who actually owns the store.

He helped me out and said hi to his usual customers at the same time. I asked him if I could get a picture with him, but he said no.

To be fair, it’s a creepy question.

Bodega: noun – a small grocery store, especially in a Spanish-speaking neighborhood.

What’s Tomorrow?
