May 25th – 4.1 Miles

Over the course of today, I worked at 3 different jobs in different locations around the city. Oh the joy of freelance.

So, these 4.1 miles were obtained almost exclusively through walking to and from these jobs. I was glad for this time, because I was in the crazy climax of Harry Potter 5. This book just makes me feel all the feels.

**Harry Potter 5 Spoiler Alert**

I have read or listened to this book so many times that I’ve actually lost count. Still.

IT GETS ME EVERY TIME.

Here are some of the quotes that stood out to me today.

“But some part of him realized, even as he fought to break free from Lupin, that Sirius had never kept him waiting before. . . . Sirius had risked everything, always, to see Harry, to help him. . . . If Sirius was not reappearing out of that archway when Harry was yelling for him as though his life depended on it, the only possible explanation was that he could not come back. . . . That he really was . . .”

“Indifference and neglect often do much more damage than outright dislike.”

“Youth can not know how age thinks and feels. But old men are guilty if they forget what it was to be young.”

“He felt even angrier that Dumbledore was showing signs of weakness. He had no business being weak when Harry wanted to rage and storm at him.”

“According to Madam Pomfrey, thoughts could leave deeper scars than almost anything else.”
J.K. Rowling, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix

That first quote, when he’s talking about Sirius keeping him waiting? That’s the moment I lost it this time. The first time I ever read the book, I didn’t lose it until he was talking to Nearly Headless Nick. Then I was a blubbering mess. So, it ends sad, but also hopeful. Then we go in to book 6 and our hearts are torn to shreds. Thanks J.K.

Side note, have you all been sorted in to your house on Pottermore? If you haven’t, you should go do that now. And make sure to comment below which house you are in.

I was sorted into Hufflepuff. At first I wasn’t sure how I felt about it, then I read about Hufflepuff and was like…YEP.

I’ve now completed Harry Potter 5, will be starting Book 6 tomorrow, and will also FOR SURE, be reaching Bree tomorrow! It’s getting serious! I’m fully aware that I’m mashing up Harry Potter and Lord Of The Rings in this and many recent posts.

That’s just the way it goes.
